richardiii,
GAME 9
10) N7, O7
For all I know, you have long ago worked out a specific forced win for White, and are thereby playing by rote. Do you know 8) N7 to be a definitive win?
(PS, someone please remind me how to create move-scroll, sorry I forgot)

up2ng,
>>Quick question for Rollie -- if you believe strongly that the Wedge is black's best defense or if it turns out to actually cause serious problems for white, what do you think of white playing move 2 away? 1. K10, L9 2. K13 Not interested in playing it out at the moment, just curious what your thoughts are on that opening. <<
You pose an interesting question. I started to answer, but perhaps it is best if I save 'something' for timed-games

Rollie- if you post the following, but remove the spaces between the [ and game and between [ and /game, it should show the board you want and moves can be added in from there. [ game]g=Pente m=K10,L9,N10,N9,M9,L8,L10,O11,L7,M10,L11,J10,O8,L8,N7,M6,M7,P9,N7,O7 wn=richardiii bn=rollietesh w=750 h=575[ /game]

I'd just like to share (slightly off topic right now) a quite amazing boat poof pente position which ukie60 and I arrived at earlier today. We agreed that it would be both boat and poof pente beforehand. I'm still as i write this unclear on who should win it, lol. the thread for it is here

This has been an excellent thread. It has been exciting to hear Rollie's thoughts about Pente in general and about certain specific positions and how he goes about his analysis.
Rollie, I hope that your recent deadlines at your work have passed now and that your projects went well and that you'll be able to check in and play some live games once in a while when you have some free time.
For completeness I'd like to see the analysis for each line that was started here finished up to a logical completion. For some reason there are still a couple of games that were started near the beginning of the thread that were mysteriously forgotten about, and I would also personally like to see how these Wedge lines play out.
I'm not sure how my time is going to be in the near future but if zoey and richard do not wish to continue at any point I'm willing to step in and finish out those games so we can have some good discussions about the Wedge opening in general and about these variations specifically.
