so, unless my calculations are off, nosovs happyj0 and watsu advance to round 2. i dont think any one predicted this from the beginning. very interesting. i guess, he who brings the A game to a B game tourney advances lol.

I shot Richard's cat, so I am not surprised that R3 was distracted. I think jozso is stronger than his BK rating, and with less rust in his game, well who knows how things would have turned out. As for me, some openings worked that I thought would likely fail, while others failed that I had thought were going to succeed. I guess that is what tournament Pente is all about.
I didn't formally predict that watsu would win his group, but I pointed out more than once that he was a ringer to be reckoned with. Turns out that I was right. Karl and dein had their hands full.
Form charts predicted nosovs, but either novatis or zoey could have won that group if they had gotten their opponents to play their favorite sneaky openings instead of the ones that they played.
As for round 2, perhaps nosovs will go to Lebanon and play from there, maybe watsu or I will have a chance due to distractions of one sort or another.
