Uploading a file to your profile is different than attaching a file to a message in the forums (a topic you originally replied to). I therefore branched this question off into a separate post.
You upload a picture to your profile by clicking on "My profile" from the main page. Then in the section "Special Donor Preferences" you'll see a field to "Upload New Picture" and a browse button. Clicking on the browse button allows you to choose a picture on your local computer.
Also, I don't think I wrote this on the profile page, but the picture must be in the gif,jpg or pgn formats and must be less than 150x150 pixels in size.
