Nice to have this, I hope perhaps we can get some sorting in terms of the value or potential of the second moves. Also, 1 question: I think the db only shows 20 of these- are the others from other sites, from rotations, possibilities that you've come up with, or...?

no they are all in the data base,.. and in my opinion the best but not limited to as far as white 3rds to respond. i will be adding more openings in time.
Scire hostis animum - Intelligere ludum - Nosce te ipsum - Prima moventur conciliat - Nolite errare
At least some of these openings (Wedge opening, for instance) go back to pre-internet days, of course. In the 1984 newsletter article on the hammer, the Wedge is referred to as "the popular 'Wedge' opening".
Also, if we consider openings which resolve into a K9 opening position after two moves, we can come up with some more opening lines which have been played, especially if board translations are factored in as similar enough to count. Not that any of them will necessarily be as good as the ones listed above.
and then boards like the following ones could be seen as translations of the basic position:
which I think would play out in a similar manner to this, although the board edges could potentially make a difference for some translations:

Those must have been a couple which didn't show up in my db search on K9. There are a few more possibilities that I didn't get among the above boards- some of them the db didn't want to call up and others were pretty marginal- a single game with a far out opening and such...
