Hi Everyone,
I just thought I would post a little note about the tourny. Good news bad news. The bad news only 8 player's out of 25 showed up. Some of which let me know they wouldn't be able to make it. The good news one of those players that did make it was Bodo Konze which was a real pleasure. So here's the top 4 1 Bodo Konze 2 Joe King 3 Henipearl ( Henry ) 4 Regan Stephens There will be pics & more details to come.

Thanks for again running a live tournament! I bet it must have been a challenge playing against Bodo Konze. I hope more can make it out next year (including me

2002 Texas Metro Plex details

Hi Everyone,
Heres how it went: Round 1 Bracket 1: Joe King vs Henry (henipearl) They played 6 games. Joe won 4 out of 6 round 1 goes to Joe. Cindy vs Regan They played 6 games. Cindy won 4 out of 6 round 1 goes to Cindy. Greg (pyloric_valve) vs Chris (boban) They decided to play the best 3 out of 5. Which gave the advantage to Greg who went 1st 3 out of the 5 games but Chris pulled it off with a 3 out of 5 victory round 1 going to Chris. Lee an unknown had the honor of going against Bodo Konze 1st. Lee won the 1st game but the next 3 went to Bodo round 1 going to Bodo.
Round 2 Bracket 1: Joe King vs Cindy. Joe won 3 out of 4 round 2 goes to Joe. Bodo vs Chris. Bodo won both games round 2 goes to Bodo.
Round 1 Bracket 2: Henry vs Regan. They played 6 games having split 3-3. They both survive certain death. Lee vs Greg. Greg wins both games round goes to Greg knocking Lee out of the tournament.
Round 2 Bracket 2: Cindy forfeits. Henry vs Chris. Henry wins both games round goes to Henry. Regan vs Greg. Regan wins both games round goes to Regan.
Which leaves Joe King vs Bodo Konze to battle for 1st & 2nd. Regan & Henry to battle for 3rd & 4th.
Round 3 Bracket 1: Bodo won 2 out of three winning him 1st place. Joe takes 2nd place.
Round 3 Bracket 2: Regan & Henry had already played 6 games 3-3. The next 2 games were also a tie but Henry pulled it off taking 3rd place. Regan taking 4th.
Bodo Konze won 1st place prize money, a 20th anniversary game, scented candle made by Joe's wife Sue and a 1982 Deluxe Edition Pente Board which are no longer made autographed by Gary Gabrel himself. WAY TO GO BODO
Joe won prize money & a 20th anniversary game.
Thanks to: Cindy for all the beautiful flower seeds. Sue for the lovely smelling candles. Decipher for the 20th anniversary games I had left over from last years tournament. Regan & Christi for the picture frames & the statues.
I would like to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Gary Gabrel for the autographed board.

June 22nd Tournament

To everyone at the tournament in Grapevine, it was great to meet such a great bunch of people. I hope we'll stay in touch. You folks are all really good players & I'm sure we can look forward to some hot competition in the future. I did want to correct one thing, however. In the final round with joeking I won 3 of 4, not 2 of 3. Look forward to hearing from everyone. Take care.
