King Karl has a nice alliterative ring to it...

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.

I like Karl the carp or simply carp. Pun intended..A complaining quarrelsome bottom dwelling fish that no one likes to really catch or eat..Also it fits his alliterative theme with the alternative spelling karp..I dub thee Karpo..probably a quadruple pun to be found here somewhere..Oh..I like to see Jennyferr and S3v3n..

Never post here... But - upon reading original question - agreement. Simple question merits a simple answer.

Since I don't know anyone here, to choose one over anyone else - I guess I will pick karlw... =P

Good luck! =)

thanks for the pick, rat. i especially like how you shut down del's insult. so from now on i guess i'm "karpo koi karl."

And if anyone wants to know my opinion, I think it's very hard to guess how this round will play out. jenny has done the unthinkable and taken sets from the top 2 seeds, but he/she has also dropped many games against less skilled opponents. It's very hard to guess how s3v3n will do, because many have speculated that he is sandbagging, so one shouldn't look at his past games to predict future games. I would say a very close race is in order between rich, seven, me and jenny, but i'm going to say rich on top, with a tie for 2nd between jenny and me.

that is, if anyone plays their ******* games.

Again - never read / post here... Don't really know the interactions / dynamics...

But - I personally always go with the idea - when dealing with a subject / field / hobby - where there is history and tradition and learning to be transmitted to the next generation - it is prudent and wise - to support and encourage the youngest enthusiasts.

I don't like to see the youngings git heckled. Genuine enthusiasm in the youngest is rare - whatever topic under discussion.

Enthusiam + talent: should be encouraged and treasured and nourtured at every turn...

If nothing else - when ya are an ol' timer of age 37 - ya will know how to recognize and support the youngins who will follow after ya... =P

I am going to go against the crowd and not pick Jennyferr... I've seen her get kinda almost dominated a few times, think that will probably preclude her from advancing. Rich and I'm going to go with Gnoza.

Karl, I would pick you, but if someone like me who is absolutely mediocre at pente can throw an unusual couple games in turnbased at you and pick them up, im sure rich will figure out how to do it too :P i think i remember homebrew about doing that earlier, in about round two i think.

ratgenesis, you are an oasis of understanding in a desert of disdain.

Spif, most of what you say is very true, except 2 things:

1) I am crap at turn-based and not afraid to admit it, so those games mean nothing to me :-D.
2) I split the set with homebrew.
