I was reading Greg's first post about the tourney and I had a thought. I don't believe that we will be getting more than 30 people signed up to play. I wish I was wrong, but I don't think it's going to happen. Maybe we need to look in to the smaller room like Greg mentioned, if there is only going to be 20-30 people??? I am assuming there is a price difference.
Any thoughts any one?
Also,
Partica, how many confirmed players (i.e. players who've paid entry fee) do we have so far? Have you got the tally yet? I "think" the number is 11. Hell, if we have less than 20 players, we may need an even smaller room. Have you already reserved a room? If so, a room size change to save $$$ may be in order. What a bummer the turn out for this tournament has been thus far...

The paid registrants are: 1 Bodo Konze 2 Homebrew 3 Richardiii 4 Snut 5 Dweebo 6 Benjamin 7 DmitriKing 8 Vivian 9 Peter Hudson 10 Tom Braunlich 11 Galeenster 12 Up2ng 13 Myself
Also mike321 and dufus are going to come I believe. I have communicated with mike about who to make the check to and the like so...I guess that is a total of 15 thus far if you include them. There are some huge names in that list and I can't wait to play them all! I have had several emails requesting information only to never hear from them again. I don't know if they are coming or not so hopefully it will grow but who knows!

Do you mean you threw out your copy of the '83 championship report? You can view it from one of the links from this site "Writings about Pente", and you can download all of the games in a text format that can be read by my program on my site. -Mark

Etnep graciously donated a t-shirt to the winner of the tournament. It is really cool. A t-shirt commemorating the day of the Pente World Championship in Las Vegas Aug 7 & 8 2004 with a WPPF logo on it! This t-shirt is much more than I expected. Thanks alot Etnep!!! If anyone wants one just head on over to www.mugmasters.com and purchase one.

Hi... Just wondering if any more people have entered. I sent in a fee for iamsam who is traveling to Vegas with me. I also have a game board and extra pieces. But don't have a chess clock. Do I need to get one? Looking forward to going to Vegas. Is there a schedule for the tourney yet? When we need to be where. Thanks, Gaylan

The very first post of this thread by cicerlove shows the place and time. Calico Jacks on the 7th and 8th from 11:00am to 6:00pm. I assume this is still the schedule although buying the room for the 2nd day may not be necessary....That will depend on how many people show up. So far, it doesn't look like it's even close to what we were hoping for....

chess clocks are needed for each game but as long as everyone else brings one it is no big deal, and the time is 10 am on Saturday August 7th. See you there and thank iamsam for joining! : )

Yes, it has been the designated time since we first started talking about this tournament. Fees for rooms during the day are much lower than during the night. Details Details Details people!
