Yeah, but... 1. Your last 7 TB sets were losses and were played over a year ago. 2. You played one unrated live game against a provisionally rated TB player who has been playing here for about a month. 3. The player you played appears to have made a misclick. 4. TB rating calculations have changed since you played the bulk of your TB games. 5. TB and live ratings are not necessarily well correlated with each other. So, draw no conclusions, in other words.

TB pente seems to be alive and well on this site. I challenge you to go head to head against any of the players on the current leaderboard and report your results. Live pente, on the other hand...

i think secshun8, nedhall, richardiii, and mumix can all attest to my skill at live play, karl. i even have a few of wins against you. but not the point. i was illustrating the disparity between live ratings and tb.

as to watsu's comments... i have no doubt tb has changed. and i lost my last 7tb games because i resigned them. i was careful not to reveal the player so you must have looked it up in the db. pls respect his anonymity as i did. after the game we msg'd each other and i offered to show him what little i know of the game. i am not trying to humiliate anyone or self-aggrandize. only pointing out the disparity.

My point regarding your last seven sets was simply that your current rating isn't representative of your turn based ability. Anyone, regardless of whether or not they have database access or not can see who you last won a live game of Pente against on your profile, so your comment about me looking up the game in the database (I did) is irrelevant.

a bit off topic, but related to karl's suggestion... i welcome any player on the tb leaderboard to play me live rated or unrated. my skill level wasn't really the point of the post but i cannot pass up an opportunity to challenge the leaderboard! bring it, killa's!

i would also like to say out of respect for the tb leaderboard players that i have played, i never won a game against any of them in 5 moves... but there is a first time for everything isn't there, karl?

I searched the db for our live game history, invictus, and it looks like you are 2-38 against me, and one of those two wins ended in 6 moves because I forgot to extend a three before threatening a keystone pair.
What I'm trying to say is I'll happily play you in live pente, but one look at my games history will tell you that I don't have anything to prove to anyone at this point, and you're lying to yourself if you think I or any of the top players on this site are "scared" of you.

allow me to rephrase... of the tb leaderboard players i have played, all deserve their ratings and concurrent respect. and when i said sechsun aint scared of me, it's cuz he aint. but he also knows it wont be an easy game which is what i meant by "mebbe a little". i welcome any player to my table and look forward to seeing you there! the point of the post (and i am surprised you dont agree or are missing the point) is that i expect a 1780 player to have a certain skill level. if the rating system has changed to the point that a tb player can gain a 1780 rating and lose in 5 moves then what is the new standard?

"the point of the post (and i am surprised you dont agree or are missing the point) is that i expect a 1780 player to have a certain skill level"
TL,DR for this thread - invictus, who no longer plays TB games, cherry picks an egregious sample game to goad more TB players into playing live games against him.
