Site update!
Posted: Jun 25, 2022, 5:03 AM

Hey everyone, as you've probably noticed, the site has been updated! We've been hard at work developing a modern look and feel for Pente.org. I assume there will be some growing pains with this interface adjustment, so please be patient, and if you notice any issues or bugs don't hesitate to let me know, they'll be fixed ASAP. As I've mentioned my goal is to make Pente.org the best place to play Pente. I hope this site update can serve as a positive step forward in the growth of Pente.org.

Quick Notes :
- Dark Mode is Coming
- The mobile app update will be pushed soon to match the web update.

Best,

Zach

When you go to an individual's profile there used to be options to A) Message B) Invite to Play C) Follow. The appear to be missing...

There also seems to be an error in the code for the social page (both from the dashboard and from one's profile page).

Looks fantastic - I hate it!

My preference is for the web to look like it did before smartphones, so anything from 15+ years ago gets a big nostalgic boost for me. That said, the previous UI was off-putting to me for a VERY long time, enough that I didn't join until last November. I'll gladly admit to some hypocrisy here and hope the new UI grows the site.

Will the mobile apps get updated?

In the invite page (at least the tree I crawled) you're missing turn-based, one would have to create two invites. So, how does the other button work?

Heys, i currently have covid, so will wait a bit to go through everything. That said, I noticed you removed the Boot Me Now button. That has been a crucial button, which I had advocated for. Basically if you disconnect from the live room, your name can ghost in there, for a very long time, thereby blocking your ability to re enter. Unless you fixed the ghosting issue you might want to put it back. Just my 2 cents. Also, can it be made to snap to screen when using mobile? Currently if I open the dash its super zoomed in on my phone to one location.
Also I noticed we can not delete our own comments now. Not a big deal I suppose.

Overall, I like it; it'll take some time to get used to it as the new normal

I think showing who is currently in a live game room is an important feature; I regularly check to see if someone is around to play live games.

Small and quickly fixed. The Unread icon is set at 10x10 size in a 24x24 frame. FYI

Vic, you now have to click on forums on top right of screen. They have removed redundant buttons it seems.
