Links in Posts being Altered after clicking Post Message button

Hello Peter,
I have noticed that from time to time links posted inside of forum messages get altered when posted. For instance, I tried to post a link that ended in php3 and it kept cutting off the 3 until I edited the message. Sometimes it cuts off the L in html as well.
Any idea what happens here? What happens to a link when you click post message? How is it being transformed? Not sure what is going on but the link typed sometimes gets lost in translation.

Yeah it sometimes cuts off the last character in a link if you don't have any text following the link.
I think if you put in a link like http://pente.org and then continue to write text it isn't a problem. I don't have access to the code that has the problem, it is part of the forum software I use, so not sure what I can do about it at the moment.
