You may be wondering how people are making little smiley and sad faces in their posts. Here is a list of "codes" that will be converted into images called "Emoticons".

Littlehum I'm also using a Macintosh and OS X 10.2.6 and Safari and all the emoticons you can't get to work are working find for me, check how you spell them carefully, use Capital O not "zero", no space and no equal sign "=".
If you can find some simbol on your keyboard try the "Key Cap" utilities, it located in the >Applications >Utilities >Key Cap.
