Zoeyk's Pente Opening Book
Posted: May 15, 2009, 1:03 AM

well this will be my whites 3rd moves library. im not sure if i will be able to complete it, but i'll try to add as much as i can. if i actually did every perfect white second and 3rd moves, i would be putting around 1,500 boards in here, and that is just crazy lol.

so here we go!

Question:

Did you go through and determine what you personally thought was the best move for each black second or did you use the database and use whatever white third had the highest win ratio?

i made my own personal determination,...on some of these you will find they disagree with the data base. i actually used several methods in conjunction to arrive at my final answers. some of these im not 100% sure of,..but most of them i am 100% sure of. and i was planning on putting notations next to the ones that im not 100% sure of as far knowing if the 3rd is officially zoeyk certified or not

the ones im not sure of are the odd ball openings, where none of us have enough experience to say its proven or not,.. these lines can only be proven through extensive study, which i plan to do when i get a chance.

but,...i feel very good about what i have chosen.

if any of these you disagree with let me know, and i will divert my attention to it as a priority for doing a deep study of to verify to a reasonable realm of certainty.

man some of us would prefer these moves weren't out for everyone to see in a thread titled "the perfect moves to play, ever". some of us like it when people do things their own way.

however, this might be helpful later in the tournament when I play you.

Anyway, after looking briefly through, there's no 3rd i strongly disagree with. you know your stuff. i look forward to seeing your n8 responses. Will you do it only with your preferred white 2nd, or with all well-established ones (N10, N11, N12, K14, K13, K7, F10, etc.)? The latter would be epic.

i do have a secondary library of 3rds for the odd ball openings. im not showing them to the public,..and i probably wont use the 3rds you are viewing here during the tourney unless they are the common 3rds we all know and trust ,... i had already thought about that one.

and yes, i plan to do the N8. but i wont do multiple white seconds. i will chose only one for simplification purposes.
N11 will be my choice i believe. if not either N12 or K14.

N10,K13, K7, and F10 i will not be using to answer N8. these are not worthy even tho they can win.

N8, O9, O7, O8, are going to have much more than 40 openings to answer. this is why im choosing to do them last.

I'd be interested in knowing Zoey's (or others) thoughts on the new (since this was published) potentially winning third P1 stone after L9 J8. No doubt both will win, but is one easier to memorize the options on than the other. Did I just resurrect this thread from the grave? Oopsie. Silly moi...

Are you referring to 3 M9?

For all we know 3. O11 could be solid for P1... many options for P1's 3rd. some better than others
