There was something that went wrong with the site programming during this game. There were a few times that I tried to make a move into a place where one of my pieces had been captured from to make a five in a row and would get an error message. I was forced to move on some other spot. Even more aggravating is the game was ended before either player gat a five in a row or made enough captures for a win, and I was listed as having lost. That is so wrong as to wishing I could file legal suit. I am officially protesting to have this game re-instated at the point where I was forced into an undesired move, or at the very least, have the decision vacated.

No one has anything to say about this? No explanations, theories, opinions? No idea how the errors occurred? Surely somebody has at least a guess. How about site admin? Is there any remedy, or at least acknowledgement of a system error?

Can you give specific move numbers where you wanted to play to a specific location but weren't able to? This is posted in game analysis with a default title which looks like a game analysis title (this is where discussions of games go by default when you click on the discuss button) but would perhaps be addressed by admins more quickly if you either msged them or posted in the help (or turn based) section of the forum. If you post specifics on moves and locations you wanted to play, we might be able to analyze the position to see whether it IDs a bug in the game coding.

Thank you for your reply and the suggestions. I will give them a try. I might ask you for some help if I get bogged down.

OK, now the game was a liitle while back, but if I'm remembering correctly, the moves were:
19. Q10, when I wanted to move into a space that had been vacated - M9
and then again on 22. L10, (M9).
Also, on 23. H10, when I had tried to place a stone at N10.

I could be a little off on exactly when in the game the glitches occurred, but I'm positive about trying to place stones at M9 two different times after it had been cleared out.

Thanks,
Bob

Okay, there was definitely something buggy about the code surrounding M9 around move 19 now that I know where to look. When Amyjune7 played to M9 on move 18, it disappeared one of her stones (N10) in addition to the one she played to M9, but gave you 3 stones. I can't see any reason why any of her stones should have been poofed out by a move to M9 at move 18, so her stones at M9 and N10 technically should have been there on your move 19. I don't know what the code issue there is, but that would definitely affect the game from that point forward (the code acting as though there were black stones at M9 and N10 for the rest of the game). Technically, I think that evaluation is accurate; I'm not sure why the game board doesn't display it correctly. There may be an earlier situation in the game around those points which created an incorrect display.
ETA: when I looked the game up in the database, it has a black stone at L8 from the very start of the game (so Amyjune's first play at K11 is actually her second black stone on the board). That accounts for the disappearing stones in the display, of course. The recorded moves don't have the L8 stone, so it registered a win for Amyjune.

I must admit, I don't know what to say. Well, definitely I should say thank you, and I do. Thank you. As for the game situation, well, at this point, I give up. It would be nice if we could get another shot at it, but we can't, and I may have blown it anyway.
That's it. Thank you so much for checking. That in itself makes feel a little better.

Glad I was able to help figure it out to some degree. I have no idea what that extra stone in the code was about, though.
