https://cdn.htmlgames.com/Pente/index.html?npa=1 First off, the program isn't very good. Secondly, it doesn't appear to respect tournament rules. But interestingly, it seems to play a poof variant, where playing into the poof position is forbidden. Odd.
I haven't encountered a site which has the playing into a poof is forbidden rule implemented for playing with other players before the recent board game arena implementation, but this computer program would seem to indicate that there's more of a following for that rule than I was aware of. Everyone, feel free to add other programs or sites which use this rule if you encounter them, either in this thread or in the one below:
As to the rule itself, I prefer being able to sacrifice by playing into a poof when that seems advisable. But I think the poof space forbidden as a move rule is an interesting variant and potentially offers the player on defense (usually player 2) more options than standard Pente rules.
