I have an observation (gripe) about the format for the DSG tournament... With the two brackets, it is essentially a double elimination tournament, but, the winner of bracket 1 can theoretically lose despite only losing one match (if he wins bracket 1 but then loses to the winner of bracket 2). It was actually Kevin Sackett who brought this to my attention when I described the tournament as double elimination. Everyone else gets the chance to stay alive in bracket 2 after lsoing a match... sholdn't this also apply to the winer of bracket 1? By this, I mean that the winner of bracket 1 shoud play the winner of bracket 2, BUT, if the winner of bracket 2 wins, this woudl simply send the winner of bracket 1 to bracket 2 to join his opponent as each having a loss, whereupon they woudl play one more match, and now, whoever loses would be suffering the second loss and would be eliminated, makin the other player the winner of the tournament. It seems odd to me to penalize the winner of bracket 1 by denying him the right to stay alive after his first loss.... I realize my method woudl potentially involve the two players playing two matches in a row, but so what? it still seems more logical and equitable. ANy thoughts on this?
I apologize for the messy typing.. I canlt typoe well and it is late and I am tired.
one final thought.. why are there so few femals pente players?

Dm, Someone told me that womens brains are not as strategic. Im not sure if thats true????? About tha tourney, we considered a true double elemanation format but, if I remember right, we thought it would be more exciting to make the final match the final match. I guess we could change it if enought players wanted to. I am just hoping to someday be in tha final match! Oh, dm, set to get the mail here and you can keep up on all the pente news as it hapens. Joe

I sarted out playing Pente in 1985. I never even heard of Pro Pente til a year ago so Pente will always be my favorite. I play both in the tourny,s so I learn Pro Pente plus thats all everyone on Dweebos plays. As for Woman they just don't have that long of an attention span. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA just kidding. Maybe in the future we could have Pente & Pro Pente in the Texas Tourny don't know. It isn't to late to sign up for the Texas Tourny for anyone interested
