The future of pente tournaments
Posted: Jan 16, 2007, 2:36 AM

The fall 2006 open is coming to an end, and I've decided that round robin doesn't work. This is how I see future tournament schedules for 2007 onward:

Speed pente tournaments (Fri. and Sat. evenings): Single elim, pro-pente, gold crown,
Sign up 15 minutes beforehand.

Spring Classic (April): Single elim, alternating connect6 keryo-pente and D-pente, gold crown.

Summer Open (June): Double elim, pro-pente, gold crown.

Fall Below 1700 (October): Alternating swiss and double elim, pro-pente, silver crown, must be rated below 1700 at time of announcement to enter.

Winter Open (December): Swiss, pro-pente, gold crown, turn-based.

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.
