DSG Tournament #6

Just wondering when the next DSG tournament will be held, Peter?

It would be good for everyone interested in participating to respond to this message, so that we can get a preliminary head count. So speak up.

Yes, we are working on DSG #6. Signups should start fairly shortly, but the tourn will not get underway until after the new year. This tournament is likely to be a D-pente tournament! The likely format is a double elimination where players will not actually be eliminated from the tournament with 2 losses but will be dropped into a lower bracket where they will continue play against others with a similar record.

What? No tour rule? I've only played D-pente maybe 3 or 4 times.

Bummer.

I guess we have to like what ever we get. But I'm not quite sure if i like it.. I could see like a sec of D pente but to go across the board D pente is all you get in my option is a little extreme.. but what do I know....

later all
sorry for the double post

Count me in. I guess I better figure out what D-pente is. I hope it means I get two moves to RIII's one.

How do you seed for that when no one plays it? Most don't even know what it is LOL

I think it is funny that the people posting here aren't interested in D pente. LMAO

D pente is the way to go. Instead of playing out tired memorized lines, splitting games until someone stumbles into something unusual, players actually have to think creatively right from the start. ANyone who says "I don't like D pente" either hasn't taken the time to fully examine what it does for the game or simply doesn't want to have to bother thinking. Either way thre is no good reason to shun D Pente. Hell, if thee is a D pente tournament I just might have to play.
