I am Rollie Tesh, though now twice as old, and half as good as I was in 1983 It is great seeing that Pente is still active, and that there are so many people who by now must know more than I ever did. Perhaps (that old competitive spirit again . I'll be glad to chat in open forum if someone can teach me how. I'm totally new here.
Hi Rollie and welcome! As far as I know, there's no chat feature in the forums; we generally log in to the game room for chat (and play, of course). If you click on the join game room button which is blue and in the middle left of the dashboard screen we can take it from there...
Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat
Thanks all. That was a lot of fun. Zoeyk would beat me in a match, but at least for one game I got to feel young again. I'd be interested in seeing someone's analysis of that game. It was one of the most complicated I've ever been involved in. Thanks again zoeyk.

That would indeed be a great game to see an analysis of (from Zoeyk, perhaps?). A pleasure to watch! Zoey wanted to make sure you know he doesn't think the game is busted yet, Rollie.
For those who missed it, here are the moves. You'll have to look elsewhere for the popcorn and dramatic tension as the game progressed, however...

Very good game Rollie! welcome to pente.org, welcome back to Pente!
It was my greatest Honor to Play you and have the opportunity to chat with you. just amazing
I really hope you will come here often and find a rekindled passion to resume playing the game with us some more.
as far as busted? on one hand we know that Player One's first move at K10 is sure win in perfect play. on the other hand we have not exhausted all possible "Strong Player 2 Lines" that can give P1 a run for the money.
if all moves were hay, and all good remaining novelties to be discovered were needles, we would have a ocean sized hay stack with over a million needles scattered about,..happy hunting
now as far as this game here, i feel i did best possible moves till the 14th,..my 14th is suspect. when i study it further i will throw out some moves i might had tried, and then others can state what they think are P1's best response moves.
i look forward to our next encounter on the geometrical battle field of pente.
