I added a new "Arena" server option in the live game room. It's a bit barebones for now, and currently web-only, I'll get to the mobile clients later. Here's the gist - You set up the table before you create it, - people can request to join your table and you can accept or decline, - when a player joins, they're automatically seated, and the game starts within 5 seconds or when both players press play, whichever comes first, - the 5-second rule also applies to the 2nd game in the set if the game is rated, - There's currently no timer after that first set, - a player can't ask to join a table more than once per minute to avoid spamming
The idea was to lower the friction to play live games. Instead of having to start a conversation before you start a game.
I have a ton of enhancements in mind if this gets more popular.
