Recent tb Pente tournament results

What happened in the latest double elimination tb Pente tournament? The last I saw it seemed like Ned and Catfish were vying for the title, but then it just disappeared. Much like how secshun8 went awol in said tournament. I can’t find any results. Did I just imagine it?

No. This is the masters tournament from 2023 that was a round robin format. The tournament I’m referring to was in early 2024 and a double elimination format. Karlw wasn’t in the double elimination tournament, however I asked you if you thought he might be the player named catfish. Catfish came in as a very low seed, but immediately started crushing higher seeded opponents.
What was also very suspicious about this tournament was the disappearance of secshun8. He was playing well, as usual, but was ousted about midway through for no showing 2 matches in a row. Last I saw Ned and catfish were playing for what I assumed was the championship. Now the stats for the tournament have disappeared unless you dive deep into the players profiles and look at their past games. It just all seems a little sketchy.

Catfish is not likely to be Karl. Karl has no reason (that I know of) not to play as himself. Also, the openings and move choices are different. As to sechshun8, well, its not the first time he has disappeared from the site. It happens sometimes for players, tournament or no tournament.

Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat

I dont care that much, but according to one other person, sechshun8, is likely to return with a different user name.

Something up with the tournament code, for reasons still unknown, it kept thinking the tournament was over the past few rounds.

It's restored now.

Catfish isn't me. I haven't played with any name other than this one since about 2013.

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.

just curious, what name did you use before 2013? ignore the question if you prefer.

On this site I've only ever been karlw, but in the days of Brainking tournaments, I evaded ("hacked," you might say) their restriction against competing in multiple concurrent tournaments for non-paying members by creating a few alt accounts (everyone did it). Ne Plus Ultra was my first and primary alt, but I also had Danse Macabre and finally the not-very-subtle "karlwalt."

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.
