I want to add new timers that give you a fixed amount of seconds 0-59 per move. What would be a good cutoff between speed and normal games for these timers?

Speed is < 330 seconds per game, standard normal game time per player is ~ 675 seconds (10/5 with an average number of moves at 15 per player). Anywhere between 30-45 seconds per move would fit the bill. Some sites have a total game clock and a per move clock. In that case, the per move clock is sometimes 1 min per move. I'd lean towards 45 seconds, because some situations need a bit longer to examine if each move can time the game out. 30 seconds is playable, but more like speed. Technically, on the speedy side, it could go as low as 20 seconds per move, but I wouldn't personally want to play much lower than that. Speedier players might. On the high side, 59 sec per move would suit the slower real time players better and still not be too much longer than regular games, assuming extra time isn't carried over between moves. I'd say < 23 sec per move would be speed timer and in the 25-30 sec range would technically be a fast but still normal timed game.

They should be ready to try now. The server will enforce non-rated games for these timers for now, if no bugs show up, I'll enable rated games too.
To use them, just set the initial minutes to 0, and incremental seconds to what you want. Up to 23 seconds is considered speed, 24-59 is a normal game.
