a side note to board size
Posted: Oct 31, 2022, 11:13 PM

has anyone noticed the current board allows 12 extra spaces as compared to the original 19x19?
there are four semicircles blocking three spaces centered on each side of the board on the original.
not so here.
while this rarely comes into play, i think it important to point out if musing board sizes.
just a thought.

Well, play within the decorative semicircles on the covered intersections was legal according to a reply by Tom Braunlich to a question asked in one of the old Pente newsletters.

For those curious enough to read the Qs & As in nearly 40 year old newsletters, this topic came up in the
Spring '84 newsletter
