Renju has quite the complicated opening procedure.
2 swaps and an offering of N stones?
It appears to me you'd want to record all game information for long term storage, but making those N moves searchable doesn't make much sense to me unless I'm missing something?
I'd store everything, but only make the one stone out of N that is picked searchable in the database. What are your thoughts?
I think I agree with you, though I'm not a renju player; store the swap offers as part of the game record, but as far as DB searches go, just allow searches of what is chosen. It shouldn't be difficult for those who want to explore the unchosen lines in the DB to enter them by hand.
ETA: based on my limited understanding, the N moves when N=8 allow all 26 of the opening renju patterns, so being able to search all Ns at 8 would amount to searching all renju openings.
