Yes, but players who want to play live are rare. This might change in the next few days.

- It seems there's something wrong with the game room, I'm working to figure out what.
- I'm fairly sure now the issue is not on my end but because of an ongoing incident at Let's Encrypt. I'll keep an eye on that and check back when they resolve their issue.

The issue seems to be resolved and the live game room is working again. The newest update of the iOS app now also supports live games, that will hopefully attract more live players.

Are there played any Pente tournaments IRL?
Any associations (national or international)?

Historically, there have been several IRL tournaments, most of them (to my knowledge ) played either in the US or in Poland. There were national tournaments held in the US in the late 1970s and early 1980s and more recently a dozen or so players from this site participated in RL tournaments in the the era of 2003-4 in the US in Oklahoma City and Las Vegas (and for several years in Texas as well) and in 2005-07 in Poland. Some links to threads here about the more recent tournaments:

and some information and writings about the old Pente tournaments and newsletters can be found at http://renju.se/rif/pente.htm Tom Braunlich's book Pente Strategy covers many games from that era as well. Back around 2003 or so there was an attempt by a player here to create a world pente player's federation website, but it did not last long. Currently I'm not aware of the status of any former or current national pente players organizations; perhaps others can provide more information on current events.

Retired from TB Pente, but still playing live games & exploring variants like D, poof and boat
