Likewise, Sq! Do you know that your dog has taken to wearing colored contacts? I wonder how he/she puts them in...

lmao.....EVERY pic i take of him his eyes come out blue. I got one the other day of him and my kid where he had the blue thing going on and my son's eyes were glowing red....hounds of hell lookin' pic....kinda spooky. And ty karl Oh and he's a boy smeef-His name's 'Obi', he's 10 weeks old and its a very tedious procedure for him when he puts his contacts in......he lacks the opposable thumbs but he insists that this impediment is really an empowerment and plans on becoming the next admin by the time he's 12 weeks old, which in dog years means that he would be the 2nd youngest admin in history here at dsg.

he looks like he could be the re-incarnation of my family's dog who bounded over to the other side last year.

I strongly advise you find out, and be aware of, a condition called bloat, which can effect larger dogs.

Please read this webpage squirrlkng:

http://www.globalspan.net/bloat.htm

It effects boxers (probably more when they are fully grown, rahter than puppies, but you need to know about preventative actions you can take).

I tell ya, that dog really reminds me of ours.

Active X...
Posted: May 22, 2007, 10:00 PM

Someone else asked me about Active X in Vista re: this site.

What should a person do when they come to dweebos and they get a message about Active X?

Does anyone have a very very clear answer? Only one post (sqrlking on page one) seems to try to answer the original post by Delg.

Anyone out there have Vista and understand specifically what to do? (apart from revert to XP)

This is the message I got from a frequent player here at DSG.

"I have tried to install active X at the Dweebo site and Windows won't allow it.

Note when trying to install:

Windows blocks this software because it cant verify the publisher.

It seems to be a moot point to force software into a new comp to play at one site.

With this said I hope someone can help with this little problem so I (and others) may continue to play at the best Pente site around."

I think this issue needs a solution, for as time goes on more people will be getting Vista, particularly on new laptops and PCs with Vista pre-installed.

Dweebo! Nip it in the bud! This needs investigating and sorting out. How do you have your Active X verified?

I don't even know what the issue is, so I am not sure how to fix it.

The sentence "i have tried to install active x at the dweebo site and windows won't allow it" is hard for me to understand. i need something more specific than that, if there is an error message, give me that.

it was my understanding that vista just warned you about the active x but still allowed you to play. is that not the case? ie can be configured to allow, deny, prompt for active x so it might just be that the user needs to adjust their security settings to allow active x here.

we'll figure it out, don't worry!

I simply just agreed to let Dweebos have the ability to activate active x and the site works fine. I was just wondering what it was about because in the past using windows 98, NT, XP..I was never asked in the past..

It sounds to me like Mmark is referring to someone else who plays here who attempted to make the same allowance that you did Del, but for some reason is being blocked from installing the activex......I think it mighta been Dweebo that said it was prolly a function of the firewall or some such Vista paranoia lol........

Solved a similar issue for a client a few weeks ago. There's a setting in Vista security that determines whether you are prompted to allow the ActiveX control or it just gets blocked without giving you the option. Sorry, I don't have any Vista computers yet, so I can't tell you exactly where it is. I was able to find it after just a few minutes of poking around, but don't remember where it was. Try "Tools/Internet Options" in IE7, maybe it was in the "Advanced" tab. Or "Security". Sorry I couldn't be more helpful...
