He wasn't directing anything at you or dweebo, just citing an example, perhaps not neutral enough, but hardly malicious. As for you and dweebo teaming up to make the site as fun as possible, dweebo's site has suffered from your contribution far more than it has benefited. Before you came around we had positively minded service oriented admins that had a clue and the only reason we have you to deal with is for lack of anyone willing to spend the time to do the deal. So congrats to you, but I can promise I can be so bold as to speak for the majority of people I know here and state that your voice wouldn't be missed if it disappeared. Ummmmm Del did you miss the post about karl not being an admin anymore? Just in case ya did, Peter took his title and privelege away (see forum titled "admin").
Karl, I dunno if your attitude is actually as immature as it comes across, and therefore if this is even an issue to you, but my guess is that if you keep up the insults and offensiveness in general that you're gonna get banned from the site altogether. I agree with dweebo that you do have something to offer (see forum titled "admin") in the pente universe, but that doesn't mean that you're inexpendable. You have GOT to learn manners and respect, or alternatively, silence.

I honestly cannot begin to describe how inaccurate that is. in my brief tenure, I was an admin in name only; before dweebo slapped the stupid title next to my name nobody gave a flying **** about me, but as soon as i was granted exalted status, everyone wanted blood. as you are all no doubt aware, my "privileges" included NOTHING other than having co-owner status of a table that i didn't own. oh and having my name in italics! you call that being an admin? cuz i don't.
when people like nosovs accuse me of spying on people's computers, or people like del call me an adolescent angry boy, i take offense, and answer in kind. homebrew saw this dilemma and advised me to "suffer fools gladly and not stoop to the level of those who are complaining," and for a while I tried, but when all my efforts resulted in was more complaining and more hostility, i decided to say a few words in my defense.
so here we are again, with the 2 or 3 people on this site (squirrl, del, thad) who have some sick vendetta against me convincing dweebo what a terrible person i am. and squirrl, you'll notice that it's never me who starts these wars, so your cute little "learn manners or silence" doesn't really hold water.

Sq: Seems you're expecting him to understand something he's never experienced before. Karl is not solely responsible for the deterioration of the online Pente community, although his attitude/behavior has been a contributing factor.

Ah, yes, mi amoeba! (sigh!) I remember those days fondly. Back then, there was a true Pente "community", in every sense of the word. Perhaps I'm guilty of over-idealizing the "good old days" (to which I was a relative newcomer), but I was impressed by the comraderie among the regulars here at Dweebo's site. Seems everyone was ready to give whatever they had to offer, be it strategic advice, moral support, or a funny witicism to help lighten each other's day. A review of the discussion forums from that era tells the story; seldom does one find the sort of invective and nastiness that seems to pervade the boards now...
As far as remedies go, I have little to offer other than my own perspective. I am working on a (rather longish, I'm afraid) essay that attempts, albeit poorly, to put all of this in context and offers my own meager vision of how the DSG community might regain some semblence of it's former vitality (and no, it does NOT involve banning karlw, or anyone else). I can't say when, exactly, it will be ready, but I will post it in a new thread here sometime in the next few weeks. Not that I expect my pearls of wisdom to change the world or anything, just that I feel that I owe it to Peter and all my Pente friends (you know who you are) who once enjoyed a place that made your heart smile...
