well i, for one, am. the way zoey talked to me it was as if i was expected to learn and master this variant to the same extent i've mastered pente, or else i'll be seen as a "purist," which is total crap. i'm all for having as many alternative rules as you want, but really. the game is the way it is for a reason: it works the best.

1 - say what you will, but i got the distinct impression. 2 - true. 3 - i'll concede that yes, it's an opinion, but by far the majority opinion. the reason 99% of the pente-playing world plays by my rules and 1% by boat rules is all the evidence i need.

The truth does not care who believes in it nor how many. The truth just is.
The percentage of choice is limited to the choices it has to choose from. Up until this point the majority has not had the choice of boat rules. Until it is programmed they still will not have the option of this further choice.
Let these two great game rules stand side by side as free online multi player java programs and let the majority decide, with more for there choosing. Then we will see the truth of what the majority wants.

I don't hear any supporters offering to program it. I think dweebo is very busy so why not have someone else offer to write it, I bet he would add it if you did so.

i think this is a great rule/alternate variant to this great game. and i think it would be a great addition to speed pente as well. but the best variant of pente i have found is at brainking http://brainking.com/en/GameRules?tp=73&fwa=ShowGame!g=2321041
Hasami Shogi its a crazy chess/pente (with just stones) game and fencer just changed a rule in a game for a win, in a matter of days. I don't think it would be that hard to add this Variant if you can add D pente you could change this little rule. and i have no idea why any one would be so adamant abut not even trying it. and I will ask fencer if he can make this a variant @ BK if he does make it or you want to try Hasami shogi shoot me a invite and i will play....
