what about turtles/tortoises?

in answer to the original question, being "Why shouldn't I leave DSG?"

I think you shouldn't leave, because you'd be missing out, and you aren't going to benefit or gain much by leaving. It's a very good site. Don't let some negative or adverse incidents that you've experienced put you off from the overall positive site this is.

No need to leave. Stay.

I am currently debating this. I never thought I would, but I'm playing more in the day, and there is never anyone on here for me to play when I check on. I think Jay is almost entirely on f.o.d now, and I can see why. Anytime between almost 9am to 3pm central there are at least twenty people playing, and they are people worth playing, a decent challenge. I tried for a while to recruit people to play here, but no one left. Yes, there are a ton of ads, and it is goofy in terms of how you will get kicked every once in a while, or lose typing ability, or randomly lose points without playing, but I am having too hard of a time finding opponents on pente.org... what should I do?

fly or die is an absolute disaster of a site. the lag and load times are ridiculous, the rating system makes no sense, you can't see the lobby when you're playing a game, they use a 13x13 board, you can't change the timer at all (which has a ridiculous 1 minute per move additional rule), no move list, and no community at all. i can't believe anyone would leave DSG for that site.

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.

if what KarlW says is accurate, and I have no reason to doubt him, why on earth would anyone play there instead of here?

Because there are 30 people on at any given time. Yes, the lag and kick things about it bug the **** out of me. But there is always someone to play. While I really like DSG, and I won't argue that it is by far the superior site, there just aren't that many people on most times. That's my only problem...

Hmm. It seems to me that Thad's major prob is Karl, so i have an idea. There is an old tree stump in Jasper Alabama, where anyone can leave a picture, an address in an envelope, along with $1000.00, and that person will disappear no questions asked. I never have used the stump before myself, but maybe its important enough for Thad that he may at least weigh the overall value of playing at Dweebos with and without a Karl on the scene.

But in my opinion, that kind of wet work needs to be left to professionals. Perhaps, Thad, you could make contact with the Yakuza in Hawaii(after all Japan owns 85% of Hawaii anyways) and form an equitable relationship. Persuade some of them to play at Dweebo’s and once they meet the never ending charms of Karl for themselves, you may be able to get out of any incured expense altogether.

I personally would hate to see Karl go, but I guess a man’s gotta get his priorities straight. After all what’s the value of a few teenage lives compared to playing pente in comfort and peace at your favorite website?

lmfao Rich.....you missed your calling. "Diplomat to the Mob" or at least an assistant of some sort. I know some pretty hard squirrl's that'll go to work with pine cones and acorn seeds for pretty cheap too. Prolly we don't want anything so messy to be traceable back to DSG tho. The garden gnomes on the other hand, they's another breed......Bad genetics there and I don't mind sayin' it out loud......no turnin' back when they come on the scene......

rich, while i normally find your jokes entertaining, i don't think it's very tactful making a suggestion, however much in jest, that someone should take out a contract on my life.

I assumed that Rich was suggesting you play some pente with the Yakuza Karl. They play a pretty mean hammer I heard.

This whole topic is silly. Thad, I think you are being unreasonable. This is a great site and I don't think you should leave just because you don't like one of the members.

Geez it was my impression that Thad hadn't chimed in on this since writing the post back in.....heck how long has it been? February 28th? Thad isn't griping anymore people lol.....Spif has a dilemma regarding the lack of people online here to play and he posted in Thad's somewhat similar but seriously unrelated thread. Whats silly about this topic is when someone chimes in without reading the thread 1st.
