I'd put up some $ to help with a prize pool. Not sure how much I can afford, but I'm down with contributing if that gets people interested.
ETA: also, I like the philosophy of the mind sports Olympics people this year - making all events free to play in so as not to exclude people with less money.

i know there was some consideration give by Dweebo about entry fees but nothing happened because of the .ORG thing being a nonprofit but mybe rainwolfy knows something about that

I think the .org being a non-profit thing is a thing of the past. Also setting up a system where entry fees become prize money for a tournament is something not for the near future.
